yes it can be done, RK wiring harness, tank panel with the speedo plus some odds and ends.

Check with your parts manager; they should be able to give you a list of all the things you will need.

For you guys who think putting a dash panel on to solve the speedo problem, yes that will work.
Now tell me how are you gonna put fuel in it, wih a dash panel on.
The fuel fill is in the tank panel on a Street Glide.

Okay you are going to buy a new dash panel and a gas tank also?
Anything can be done, but not very cost effective in my opnion.

If he wants a Road Glide, it looks like it would be a lot easier to trade for a Road Glide.

Another in the why camp? Why in the world would you want to downgrade? You can probably get a straight trade for a newer model year.

I agree it's going to be costly, but it can be done -- when I added up the cost to convert my SG to RG I quickly traded it in

You can get a gauge cluster from Dakota Digital that has everything you need in it. Speedo, tach, and all of the indicator lights. It runs about $500.00 and solves the issue of having to put a new tank and dash on the bike. A few pieces of chrome to cover the exposed areas behind the fairing you have now. Is it a true FLHR conversion? No, but it's pretty darn close. The flip side of that is that when you try to sell it or trade it, it's now a FLHTR kinda thing. Some potential buyers or dealers may not care, but most probably will.

Having said that, if you do the conversion, I wanna see pictures!

you're right, it was late and i wasn't totally thinking.... i think the other suggestion for the dakota digital would be spot on. small correction on your last sentence- road KING....

nope, frames are the same, trees are the same. rake and trail are the same (26*/6.69 in) the difference is the wiring harnesses and all the stuff bolted on to the front end.

Yes it is I have seen it done all you have to do is trade in the SG for a SK. I bet that's the cheapest way.
