I went out this weekend and no speedo. It was working two weeks ago.
The connection at the front wheel looks ok.
Anything obvious to look at before I start to remove it from the fairing?
Thanks
I'd say pull the batwing and make sure the cable is still screwed into the back of the speedo. It's possible it could have viberated loose and just needs to be tightened up. Or the cable snapped.
My speedo went out in Daytona this year , some one told me to take the sensor out of the casing and clean it but that did not work,, the new sensor is easy to replace it costs about $56. One way to check the sensor is to see if your turn signals turn off automatically because they are tied into your sensor feedback. Let me know how it works out
I did notice that my cruise didn't work and signal lights did not cancel by themself.
Last week I used a wheel cleaner and tire cleaner. I wonder if any of these products could effect the sensor??
Thanks

The sensor should be on the tranny housing, under a cap. If you remove it you will probably find it to be covered in metal shavings. Just clean it off and reinstall.
My RG has 50k and I have to clean the sensor .I hex bolt right side back of the transmission .Take it out and pull the sensor and clean it works evey time for me.
This is a 1993 Would it have a sensor?
There is a cable going to the left front of the front axle.
There is also a small sensor with a wire attached on the top side of the trans. 5/8" wrench to remove it. The botton/inside of the sensor is spring loaded.
I've removed and cleaned it three times and still no speedo.
Where the cable attaches to the front wheel, there should be a nut. If you can disconnect the cable there and give the inner cable a spin with your fingers. You should be able to spin it enough to get a little twitch out of the speedo needle. If not, the inner cable may be broken.
