I'm 5'9" and put a H-D tinted 6" windsheild with a Mustang seat that lowered me around 1.5". Now I look directly over the windshield, worked out perfect.

i think the shield has either got to be lower to get the full wind or higher to get it over your head. i just bought a new shield for mine this winter to try the higher route. the guy i bought it from said if you sit on the bike and have someone hold a level on the top of the shield, the level should hit the tip of your nose. if you make it shorter, the wind hits you in the face and holds the head and glasses tight. of course that is not as nice on the neck but it does do the job. i am going to take my old shield and cut it to a shorty to see if i like it.

You need the 6 inch windshield, it will stop the buffeting and is less strain on the head and neck

I'm 6ft and run an 8in Half moon. Works great for me.

I'm 6'4" and have an 8" on my Ultra. It's pretty comfortable with very little buffeting. Thought about going shorter but after riding several customers' SGs I found I didn't care for the stocker.

I like my FastAire 8" on my 07 SG. After Mean City lowered my seat, I cut an inch of the bottom and its perfect. Try www.fastaire.com

Thumbs down

6' and I think I'm going with a 8" recurve. The stock one's good to 45mph.
