Chubby 14" installed!
Scoot(RKC) has been down two weeks awaiting correct parts and proper length cables to complete Chubby 14's.......UPS dropped off the cables at 6PM, I just completed first test ride at 9PM......SHE'S SWEET!
Was dreading having to either remove or lift gas tank like described in service manual.....Don't do it! It ain't required.
Bleeding the front brakes was a snap using two small jars and two lengths of clear tubing-I first allowed fluid to gravity flow slowly down lines while keeping master cyl full, then a few quick bleed cycles gave me rock solid lever......I was also dreading the bleeding process after reading how it was almost impossible without reverse bleeder rig or other devices.
I'm glad I waited for the proper lenght (shorter)cables and brake lines.
For those of you considering the chubby 14's, you need +6" upper brake hose, and +6" throttle cables....The clutch cable however must be +8".
How did she handle?......YEHAW!, She drives like a dream!....I adjusted the bars directly inline with the fork tubes and that placed them precisely in my reach plus just under shoulder height.
75 degrees and full sun tomorrow so I'm escorting her to work.....supposed to be 75/sunny thru the weekend too.
