Default Dyna mat

May I encapsulate my fairing speakers w/dyna mat or dyna mat the entire inner fairing?

Thank You

What I was told to do was but dynazorb across from each speaker. Read elsewhere that dynamating the whole fairing was not necessary. See posts by firecap501 he is very knowledgeable!!

dynamat is heavy..it is anti vibration/ sound deadening (road noise) stuff...
I put a lot of it in my fairing and ended up taking a lot of it out except a bit in back of each dynaOrb square I had.

Guess people choosing speaker baffles(surrounds the speaker) vs the orb stuff as well.. 5-15 dollars vs 20-36 for the little dynaOrb squares...

I thought the idea was to complete cover the inside of the outer fairing. Am I wrong? Is this the same stuff as the R Blox sold on Ebay? It was recommended here, at least over in the touring section. Now I am confused.

DynaMat is heavy stuff... your front fairing is plastic and very light weight.

You are not enclosed like you would be in a car/suv/etc.. DynaMat is sound deadening stuff... something you would use to deaden the sound of road noise made by thin sheet metal rattleing/vibrating.. or noisy tires... etc..

I wouldn't suggest too much of it on your fairings.... advice I got here on hdf forums. Just thought twice about it and took a bunch off.

4 sq ft of Dynamat Extreme is ~3lbs that's doesn't seem to me like a lot of weight for a ~800lbs MC in IMO.

in used dynamat in mine. kinda started this craze. found it actually took some of the vibration out of the faing in addition to deading sound. the new idea is using dynasorb which also works well. (firecaps new and fabo ideas!!!)
what i wouldnt suggest is the foam boxes. when installed they collapse inside due to the small space and actually hurt sound. just my .02 worth
whats up acchd!
