Default Heart Break!

I remember as I let my Dyna go for my FLHT I teared up. Seeing the service guy push my old girl off for the trade struck a cord on the ol' tear jerker strings. Every once in a while I remember the ol' girl and cant help but get a little misty eyed. Anyone else have a heartbreaker story to post? Doesn't matter how old the story.

I still wish I had kept my 06 road king. she was a beauty. traded her in on an 08 electra glide classic. love that bike too, but I had that road king fixed up the way I wanted and she looked nice.

Strangely no. I just sold my 02 RKC and watched it ride away into the dark last night. I love that bike, it was my first bike in 25 years and my first Harley. It rode great and had a lot of eye appeal. So I thought I would have a hard time watching it leave, but
I guess I'm just too excited about getting a new one. Also, the guy that bought it was young and I could tell he was really excited to take it home. I enjoyed watching that as well. Best of luck to him, it was a great bike for me.

Not a sad story at all for me. I sold my rice burner last spring. I drove it all the way to Colorado for the guy. I got my dream bike and have never looked back. Now if I would ever have to part with this one....we wont go there!

Traded my '96 Road King last year on an '08 Street Glide.

As much as I loved that bike (I absolutely love my SG, but no bike on the planet has the innate character of a Road King) I got over it pretty quickly.

The heartbreak was seeing it at the dealer a couple months later -- The new owner really "made it his own" in a way that I really didn't want to see... It went from being a very "classy" (for lack of a better term), elegantly appointed beast that every bit lived up to its name, to "some old Road King" in only a handful of weeks.

Oh well... That's what happens when they're not 'ours' anymore...

I know that feeling! Sold my Lowrider last summer and still miss it! Fortunately it is only 34 days till I get my brand new street glide. I guess I also had this sad feeling when I sold my Heritage in 2001 for the 2000 Lowrider.

I remember letting one go, my first ex-wife. Finally had enough of her, took her for a drive in the desert. Didn't kill her, just buried her alive but only deep enough for the coyotes to dig up her feet, just a couple of feet.
Walking back to the bike I realized I had violated the first rule of doing someone in, yep, I had forgot to rifle through her pockets for valuables, she had the keys to the bike in her jeans, I didn't think about it since I'd been drinking and told her to put them in her pocket so I wouldn't lose them.
Well, you can imagine how stupid I felt having to dig her back up and wrestle the keys from her just to put her back down in the hole.

If that hole had been much deeper I would have lost that bike for good and felt like you now. Whewy! That was a close one.

Just me, but I haven't been that way...always happy to get it sold or traded for something better. Now, my '02 RK is old but looks new and is a keeper till I can't ride any more.
