Default Rush Slip-Ons

I know this has been beat to death but I'm worn out from searching. After reading about a million posts on exhaust I think I want to put the Rush Slip On's with 2" baffle on my 09 RK.

I'm not really after the added power, etc....I just want this bike to sound better than stock.

I've done a lot of searches on where to buy but I would like input from y'all here.

1) price will be main determining factor

2) vendor must have good customer service

Thanks in advance.

If it were me, I think you could do a lot worse than buy them from FuelMoto, one of the site sponsors.

Based on your criteria, I see NO reason to not go with the Rush pipes. Are you sure you don't want 1.75's? FuelMoto can certainly help you answer that question. Besides, you can always switch baffles - takes like 5 minutes.

But you have the 2.0 so why promote 1.75?

thanks...I'll contact them tomorrow. I thought I'd start with the 2.0 and since the baffles are interchangeable I can always order a set of 1.75 later....

Heh, does seem a bit odd. I actually have both and I do switch back and forth. I don't get any decel pop with either of them, but on longer trips the tone of the 2" baffles with my half helmet gets to be a bit much. Especially while riding 2up. I prefer the 2" around town and short cruises.

I have a Heritage, so that would certainly make a difference as well, since the exhaust is not taken as far to the back of the bike. 2" would probably work very well for you.

Now that my wife will be bringing home her new Deluxe, we most likely won't be doing much 2up any more, so the 2" will probably be on more than the 1.75's.

That said, when I called and talked to Jamie at Fuel Moto, he said the 1.75's on my bike are recommended.

I mainly ride solo as my wife has her own bike and she'd rather ride her own bike than with me. Most of our trips are no more than 2 hours each way....so I think I'll go with the 2" and if I'm a wimp and can't handle the 2" I'll drop down to the 1.75"

I could also say my bike performs a bit better with the 1.75's, and I get about 3-4 more mpg.

Based on your criteria of primarily desiring better sound, I would have to say that "on my bike" (and imho) the 1.75's have a lower tone and generally better sound. The 2" tend to blare a bit. BUT you have a completely different exhaust system - who's to say?

Good luck with whichever you decide on, and let us know how the 2" sound on your RK.

i have both 2" and 1.75" and can't tell much difference. Both are way too LOUD and are sitting in the garage. A better buy are the Wild Pig blems on eBay. Having diassembled both I can't see any difference especially to pay the Rush price. Local dealer here was big on Rush sales earlier and now they have them on their clearance table.
