I am trying to find a pic of chrome switch caps in stock black housings. I am thinking about just the caps and a few other chrome accents on the controls but want to see the look first. So if you got em, post em!!
Don't do it man...don't do it! I just wne through this with my bike. A major pain in the ****! At first I though the chrome switches would look good. I installed the left side, first (major pain in the butt) which took at least 1 hour. Then as I was ready to put in the lower two caps (audio controls) I discovered that the plastic castings were bad because they wouldn't slip on. Drove to the dealer and looked over all the other kits they had on the board. Same problem....no doubt all cast from the same lot.
Aside from that, the other issue I noticed was that the black lettering against the chrome isn't as visible as white over black. I know my controls by feel, but I still didn't care for the look as much.
Do a search for a similiar thread that was posted recently dealing with this issue. There were several people who also did the same installation. You might find it helpful.
I did it and I think they look great but you know what? I wish I had left them Black on Black.
I did the Chrome Housings and Black Switches on my Fat Boy and that was great but I am just not a fan of the Chrome Switches buttons. I was iffy when I did it, but I wish I had stayed stock.
