Anyone know of a good seat pad for an stock 08 FLHTC seat, that'll help with saddle soreness? Thank you
I went from the stock to a Sundowner on my Ultra and it is much better prior to switching have have a Gel and foam pad that I used and did a good job which I am willing to let go really cheep coast me about 130.00 it is in great shape. If you want more info pm me.
Maybe you would consider getting your stock seat modified. I sent my seat to MeanCityCycles and was happy with the results. Price was right and their customer service was good. Many on this forum have also done this and I've heard of no negative reports. They have a website. meancitycycles.com
I wasted money trying to improve the seat situation (08 Ultra) by buying pads. I eventually did bite the bullet and bought a new seat (Ultimate); or, have your seat modified. I have a Mustang seat on my softail (07) and that has also worked out well.
Put an add in Wanted Section in HDF for a seat.....Guys change seats and sometimes let them go for a good price!!!! Worth a try..Sundowner is a good start but alot out there!!!! Good Luck.. R.W.
I have had a sundowner on my RK. It was nice, but compared to my foam and gel stock seat from Ride and Leather, does not compare. Modified oe seats are the way to go, now that I have done it. Mean cycle or ride and leather I would recondmend.
This guy (clicky) did a mod on my stock Fat Boy seat and it was real good. He's affordable and when you contact him, he will set up an appointment w/you so that when your seat arrives, it gets worked on and mailed back w/i 36-48 hours. He was recommended to me by a friend and he seems to have a big following in the metric touring and sport-touring community.
Try a Airhawk seat pad. I have 2 of them, bought one for myself than one for the wife. A lot cheaper than a after market seat and we only use them when we are on longer trips.
