Default Headlamp alignment

I replaced the bulb to one of the blue/white brighter models and now I'm getting flashed at.
It seems that my dim beam is too high and my high is up in the trees. I flick the high beams on and the flashing stops.

Is there a method to do this other than trial and error? If I park in my garage and sit on it, can I use the wall to gauge the heith etc. ?
Are there any measurements that are a standard that maybe get used in the plant.

Thanks

If you have your Owner's manual, it is covered there. You may be able to get the info from a manual at the dealer.
Try this - put the bike 25' from a wall; measure the height from the floor to the center of the headlamp with the bike upright (not on stand); make a mark on the wall at the same height; turn on light & aim toward the wall. The center of the beam should be on the mark on the wall. Also check the lateral alignment so that there is equal light to the left and right of the center of the bike.
Don't forget to have weight on the bike equal to the normal rider's weight. Be sure your garage floor is level (most are not).

Ricoman's the man. Make sure it's on high beam when you check it, not low beam.
