Anybody have a simple Catalytic Remove bolt in product ?

If your talking about the '09's, I haven't seen anything. I did however purchase a tool made by another member here to remove part of the cat from my Cali header. It did make a difference in sound and throttle response on the low end.

 

Can I get that info. ?
What did the tool do ?

Looks like the only thing you can do is repalce the Cat. with a Straight through pipe section....

I did replace mufflers with Bub/Reinhart - just to cheap to spend the $399 for the header pipe section at this time....

It' not difficult to remove all the cat. Just cut it in half, dig it out (drilled through the cat and then used a sawzall to cut out). Take your time to line it back up and then weld it back together. Then painted welded up area.

 

Sounds like it would be easier and cheaper for most of us without the welders and tools, or that like the chrome to buy V&H power duels...

Then get yourself a 18" piece of 5/8's rod, three nuts and a drill motor and your good to go. Remove the right muffler and start drilling. Aliitle elbow grease and some cutting oil and your good to go. A real nice thing about this is, you still look stock :-) Any other question just give me a holler.....................Rich

 

That part of the pipe is covered by the heat shield . I don't think it would cost very much to have someone weld it up. Either way it's done, the bike will need some tuning. After this was done the bike was lean. Did 3 "v" tunes with the TTS tuner and the difference was amazing. Went from stumbling and farting below 2500 to pulling strong right from the bottom. This took a couple of hours and didn't cost a dime ( not including the TTS). Coring the pipe leaves about 1" of space from the front pipe to the cat, which I think could upset the balance between the 2 cylinders.

 

You guys are breaking the law and polluting our state,I mean the air.The state is already polluted.
I think CARB should know about this!

 

Buy a head pipe off of a non CVO, non Cal. It will not have a cat.
Cut it and gut out the cat and weld it back together. Steve at Fulsac can do this if you do not have a welder or the nerve.
