Default Handlebar help

My bike is in its crate on the way to the dealer so I need to make a decision quick and need help!!!! I have searched and probably too dumb to find what I am looking for so here it goes:

I am 6 ft tall and the bike is a 2009 RKC. I know that Heritage bars come highly recommend by people and that is what I am thinking. Is there anyone on here about the same height that has done this? can you give me your impressions? Also if I go ahead and have the dealer do this at assembly should I save any money on this cause they have to put on handle bars one way or another? Before any say why does this guy not just go try them out?I am in Afghanistan and that is not an option for me. I do remember the rkc i sat on in January I had a little more reach forward than I would like. I have trip to NY planned from West Texas shortly after getting home. Please help thank you

if you have other suggestions please let me know

Ihave a 2007 RKC and am 6'1''. I went with Wild Ones 14" Chubby's This decision was after 6 months of researching ( sitting on bikes and this forum) I was trying to get it right the first time since I have so much money that I could just keep trying until I got it right. For me this immediately stopped the pain between my shoulders and was absouloutly the correct bar for me.... However I don't think 16" would be too high either. Your seat will be another thing you will probably want to consider changing. i went with the Harley Sundowner... again the correct one for me.

By the Way...... THANKS FOR YOUR SERVICE !!!!!!!!!!!

I had Heritage bars put on my 01 RKC and loved them! !st mod I made to the bike.
The 14"Wild One Chubbies are not bad either and will help significantly but I cant speak from experience for these.

I have a 2008 RK. I'm 5'11" and I didn't care for the reach of the stock RK bars either so I replaced the stock bars with Road King High Bars and have been very happy with them. I also had put the Road King High Bars on my previous bike...2002 RK. I sat on other bikes with the Heritage bars and they seemed comfortable but I preferred the look and comfort of the RK High Bars. Like the Heritage bars, these do not require any wire or cable changes.

I doubt that you'd save any by having them done at set up as I think the bars come already installed on the stock bikes but I'm not sure. You'd have to check with your dealer on that.

Good luck and come home safe

I'm 6'0" tall and replaced the stock bars on my 05 RKC with the Wild 1's 518 bars. Couldn't have been happier with the results. Great bars!

Right at 6' myself and I put the sundowner seat and the Harley fat bars for Road King models (56675-05) on my '07 and love 'em. Took the opportunity to do the chrome controls and cables with internal wiring. I know they had the same bar for the '08's and later (56032-08).

Thank you for the help. I am trying to get a straight answer from the Dealer but that is not happening. How long should it take a dealer to put the new bars on?

I have the 09 RKC. I'm 6'.1". With the stock RKC handlebars I felt they were too low and placed me too far forward. I went with the Heritage Handles bars. These were "perfect". They are up a couple inches higher and pull back a couple inches. They are VERY comfortable.

I'm 6'2" and went with the HD Tall Boys on my RKC. They worked out so well that I don't think I'll need the back-rest I was planning. I think I got charged a couple hours labor to get them put on but my bike has ABS and needed longer lines.
