Default Problem after inner fairing install

Over the weekend i installed the painted inner and new chrome hand controls and switch housings. Everything went smooooth, about 5 hours for everything!!
Now the problem, when i get ready to start the bike everything is normal, turn the ignition to run, wait for the check engine light to go out, start engine, oil pressure comes up and CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES BACK ON!!!! Only stays on for about 2-3 seconds but it didnt do it before. Everything seems to be good, all guages work right, bike runs great, but the dang light comes on every time i start it now????

Any ideas what would cause this????

there is a code that came up somehow and it will keep doing that till you look at the code then delete it.. Could be anything.. But hopefully you can just delete it and all will be well.
Do a search here on codes and you will find out how to view ,check it and delete it

You might want to check the ECM Fault codes. The procedure is posted here somewhere on this forum. Do a search for it.

It is a historic code. Clear the code and see if it comes back. Probably came on because of the things unplugged during fairing exchange. You can clear it through the speedo.

ok, code came up as:
po261 Front Injector Open/Low

I reset it and started the bike and its gone, Must have been from haveing the battery unhooked and all the plugs undone or from the cables being loose when i did the chrome controls.

Thanks guys, I can depend on MOST of you when there is a problem!!

Only tip i can give you is MARK WHERE ALL THE CONNECTIONS GO!!!!
I just used masking tape and did a 1-1 2-2 3-3 kind of thing so i knew 1 went to 1 and 2 went to 2 and so on. It really was pretty easy, like i said before i did the fairing and the chrome controls in about 5 hours.

As far as pics go, look for a post titled weekend mods and there are a few there.

Marking is good but a digital pic helps to look and see how all the harness was routed.. My bike was wrecked and the indy screwed the routing all up.. Its still not right but its better. It really helps when mounting the outer fairing. Fits a lot better when everything is in place..
