i have an 03' roadking with stage 2 upgrade. i was thinking of changing cams and wondering any suggestions on what i should get. someting for some power and the powerful idle sound. thanks
I went with the Headquarters 034G with S&S gear drive and love 'em. Brought back the old HD sound and lots of giddy-up starting at about 2800 rpm.

I put the SE203 in mine. Seems to me to be a little quicker from light to light, and fine on the freeway. Sounds better than stock that's for sure, is better than stock. Wish I'dve changed to either a gear drive or a hydrualic tensioner though. I just replaced it with the stock spring style tensioners. They'll be O.K. for another 20'000, but after that they're gone.
I had Andrews 21g cams installed as a replacement to HD 203 cams and worn cam spring tensioners in my 2001 RKC. Wow - there was an amazing difference between these and the Harley low torque bagger cam. Specifically, with the HD 203s and a canned SERT map, I had 66.81 horsepower and 80.03 torque. The Andrews 21gs and a dyno tune resulted in 73.43 horsepower and 92.26 torque. Beyond the dyno numbers, the "seat of the pants" difference is fabulous. Next winter, I am planning to finish the engine work (Joe Minton Build) by adding a 95" bore.
You might want to read Joe Minton's build recommendations before buying/doing anything. It is posted here and many places on the internet. There is a lot of wisdom and good ideas presented on this forum and Joe Minton's is among the best.
