Default Speedo Malfunction

I was out yesterday enjoying the great weather here, got in about 200 miles! Problem I had was for about 10 miles the speedo on my 2000 Ultra quit functioning. The needle would not go above 40mph or under 20 mph. After I stopped for fuel the speedo started working fine. Do I have anything to worry about?

More than likely the sensor has metal shavings on it.

It's an easy fix. The sensor is on the top of your tranny, just below where the rear pipe comes out of the head. It's a black device with a fairly thick black lead coming off of it. It is held in place by a single allen screw. Remove the screw, pull the sensor out by wiggling it is you pull upward on it. Remove the built up metal shavings and re-install the sensor and allen screw....

I bet that will fix it!
