Thanks for your comments, looks like everyone is pleased with there hyperlites. Along with Hyperlites I was also considering Martin Fabrications driving Lights and Ride Time Technology Fender Tip Lights. I decided to keep it simple and went with Ride Time Technology. I must put in a plug for Martin Fabrication as I emailed them multiple times asking questions about their products and they responded each and every time in a favorable manner, if I was going with driving lights I would have went with Martin Fabrication. Ride Time Technology also responded to my email request as well. I never got around to emailing Hyperlites.
Have been runnin the universal kit on my RG since 02 and have no desire to ride without them. They deffinately grab folks attention. Had one of my light pods fail & when I called them about the problem they sent me another kit before I had a chance to send them my old one. I was very pleased with their product support.
Did this last year when they first came out.... SUPER BRIGHT! Almost to bright if there is such a thing! As to the Hyper-lites probably the best fit/option. Had mine for over four years and they work like magic. You won't be disappointed at all. Will take a little time to get em hooked up but it ain't rocket science.
I have 3-way Hyperlites installed at the bottom of my Tourpak, as well as Ride-Time LED 3-ways in the Tourpak lights and one of their LED fender tips. The Hyperlites are definitely attention getters and I've noticed a definite decrease in the number of tailgaters. Like all LED's, they're somewhat directional, so if you're close and at an angle (like in my video) you may see a difference between left and right, but moving back (to maybe 8 ft, they're equal in brightness). Highly recommended.
I have them mounted on either side of my license plate with the optional bracket. Very subtle when off. Nice bit of extra light when running. Super bright and flashing when brakes are applied. Must tap in to existing wires. I went into the tour-pak since there is a lot more wire to work with and everything is hidden. Easy install and worth every penny.
