I know this is not the oil thread, but I wanted to make sure someone saw this that might be able to help.
I changed my oil today, and when I went to fill up the primary i poured the oil into the chain inspection cover hole, instead of the clutch inspection hole.
I know it is open inside the primary, but most of the oil stayed on the chain side, and did not flow over to the clutch.
Will it be ok that way, and be able to start it up. Do I have to try and drain it back out, and pour the oil into the correct hole?
Please let me know, I would hate to start it up and ruin something, after all the money I spent on this bike.
You can add the oil through either the inspection cover or the derby cover, no difference. I always add my oil through the inspection cover, much easier than the derby cover.
The only difference is you can not visually see the level in respect to the clutch plates so you have to be sure that you added the correct amount. I always filled through the inspection cover when I had one.
