Default Goodbye Nightrain, Hello SG, just need keys now to ride.....

So, after months (okay a year+) i traded in the 04 nightrain with gobs of mods for an 08 Street Glide. The bike was made to ride but I don't have to tell any of you that. Here is my problem:

As were headed out of the parking lot, i say "hey, wheres the keys" and the excuse was "Oh a salesman accidentally took them home". I said, okay, I'll wait. 30 minutes later dude comes back with a harley key, only it's the wrong key. I am now furious. Heat index was 107. So, they say, let us order you a new set and we'll fed-ex them to you. Now, today is Thursday, 5 days since purchase and still no keys. What to do?

I also found out the bike has security, so I called today and asked did you order the fob also for the security? a big...uhhh, i'll check. That means no to me. This is crazy, i can't ride anywhere because I can't park and leave it for fear of theft..

Any suggestions? The dealership is 110 miles away. I just emailed the sales manager. Now tomorrow is Friday and I bet I'm screwed for another week. (I have learned the gas key is generic and the one from my reciever hitch lock will open the gas tank, oh yeah).

Thanks!
Krafty

We always have fobs in stock so your dealer should carry fobs. That's not a problem. There is also a procedure where you can override it in the event you lose your fob or the battery dies.

Figure out the security code and start riding. You're only problem is not being able to lock anything.

the alarm is not set, but like bdp says, just can't lock anything.

Oh, I've ridden, about 300 miles last few days. Keep taking the long way home.

The security system automatically engages when you walk away from the bike with the fob. It is a passive alarm. Something doesn't sound right here. Sure there isn't a fob in one of your saddlebags??

I would buy a new ignition post and a couple of fobs from another dealer. Also change the security code.
