OK, I just received a nice set of ear plugs for use as ear buds from "Big Ears". These things are wonderful. Except that they are picking up allot of ignition noise. How do your reduce this noise or eliminate the problem all together?
If I run the connection through the rear (passenger) input the noise is reduced by about half. Any ideas? This is on a 06 Ultra by the way.

I'm no audiophile, so I can't help you out, but I have a question. Are those things even legal? I'm truly not trying to be a wiseguy here --- I really don't know if they are or not. I have an ipod that I run through the speakers, but I'm one of those guys who'd love to hear more mid & bass at highway speed. (I'm on the list for the ARC upgrade) I've thought about wearing my ear speakers, but I like my tunes at "concert level", and just didn't know if I'd be able to hear a siren coming at me, at a cross-street intersection, or something like that. Maybe I'll try it sometime, but don't wanna get pinched for them. Anybody know?
In town I always pull one out and while on the highway they do a great job of blocking the wind and the stereo is absolutely fantastic. Yes you can hear a horn and sirens, it just a bit muffled. No different than regular ear plugs in that manner.
Anyone have any input on the whining ignition noise?

To tell you the truth, it makes perfect sense. I've heard that wind noise is the biggest cause of hearing loss. I know I don't hear as well as I used to. Maybe I'll try them on the highway for that stereo sound. (Wonder if my hearing loss has anything to do with listening to my tunes at "concert level" with my ear plugs!) Sorry I can't help you with the whining noise.
