Drill a hole in the bottom inside corner of the bag, take everything out of it, fill halfway with beercans, fill the rest with ice.

Low cost.

I looked at the Amazon reviews for all of these bags and there is always someone who says they leaked at some point. I have tools stored at the very bottom of each saddlebag, so leaking cooler bags isn't really an option. Wish there was a brand that didn't leak.

OR....

Strap one of these on your luggage rack.

REALLY the better choice anyway.

I guess I'm doing it wrong. I put twelve bottles in, dump 7lbs of ice in. Add ice as required. Done. No drain though, I don't want to drill a hole.

What I'd like to do is set up some sort of electric pump that will circulate the water from the saddle bag that has ice in it through a cool shirt like nascar does.

You wouldn't need a really big hole, and any hardware sells rubber plugs in a variety of sizes, for when you're not using it as a cooler.

I've actually considered this... until I realized I carry too much crap in my bags daily.

Not sure if this was mentioned yet or not but what I have done in the past was to buy a 4 dollar sheet of Styrofoam from Lowes or Home Depot and cut it to fit inside my saddle bag. Be sure to line the 4 sidewalls and the bottom of the bag, then put a plastic trash bag in there. Fill with beer cans and top it off with ice. Works well for me.

That is a good, inexpensive idea!

This plus 2" foam insulation cut to fit the bottom of the hard bag to help with road and exhaust heat. Never a leak or condensation after @6 years and I load it with ice only.

Tried the Yeti Hopper 30 in the saddlebag. No way no how. The bottom of the Yeti is about 10.5 inches across.

Actually that AO don't look to bad.
