Default headlight trim ring

to all that have installed the HD chrome trim ring around your headlight. after you installed it did you have a gap between the ring and the headlight or did it fit tight? i believe the trim ring attaches to the existing one on the lip so it can only go on so far when installing it. Comments appreciated.

thanks

The trim ring is a POS! I could not get mine to fit correctly and returned it.

I've never seen one that fit remotely well.

I've seen plenty that don't even come together (even when correctly installed). I've never even seen a photo of one that actually hugs the glass...

i bought one of the visor type that goes on over the stock ring on my streetglide. after trying to get it to fit right for an hour or so, i thought, man what a cheezy piece of crap. could have found something that fits this well from a street vendor in tijuana. returned it the next day. the only way i'd install one again is to spark up the tig and weld the headlight trim ring to the original ring, and rout out the correct headlight adjustment holes, etc. in my thoughts, it's what harley should have done in the first place, is to make the trim ring, an actual trim ring that replaces the factory rounded one altogether, rather than just one that slips in over the stock ring.

Fitted a visor type ring to my 08 RKC - took several attempts to get it right - big gap otherwise. It is a piece of rubbish though.

Took the stock ring off, bought some weatherstripping at home deopt, wrapped it around the out edge of the lamp housing & installed the new trim ring. Some areas around the trim ring aren't perfectly tight & flush but the bottom where it comes to together is perfectly tight & it's the best your gonna get if you want this trim ring on your bike.
