U turn???? Why do I need to do that. If I want to go where I just came from I'll just stop right where I am and put it in reverse. Bet that would scare bajeezus out of you even more huh???

What if I do u-turns in front of a store window so I can see in my reflection what a good rider I am? Would that be OK with your precious standards for approving what OTHER people do?

This thread kinda reminds me of the one foot down/two feet down thread a couple of years ago.

Yep - I consider knowing HOW TO RIDE the bike properly much more important than how it looks or how clean it is - I practice tight turns all the time because that's where the money is.

the saying is RIDE TO LIVE not RIDE TO POLISH

Anybody that's seen "Ride Like a Pro" and practiced should be doing 20' U-turns. 24' any time.

You can actually get much tighter than 24 feet if you blip the throttle, lift the front end off the ground, pivot your weight while on the wheelie, and flip the front end around. That gives you a very tight u-turn of about two feet! You have to be careful if you're running fishtails though.... don't ask me how I know!

U turns? That implies I don't know where I'm going. I ALWAYS know where I'm going. The direction I'm heading will always get me to where I want to go, even if I didn't know I wanted to get there. U-turn? Wasted riding time IMHO.
