The most honorable part about Ed Freeman? He did not see himself as a "hero" you saw himself as doing his duty, placeing others life above his own. He stepped forward to the call. He did not expect an award he did not expect thanks. All of this make him a hero, a roll model for young Soldiers such as myself. It is very sad to think others care more about there movie idols and freak singers and TV sales men than they care about the man that gave them the freedom to do what they want. Whether this belongs in the "touring" forum or not is not important whats important is people are made aware of those that made the true sacrifice. Thank you for posting this.

RIP Ed Freeman and all those heros before you. I lost a cousin in Ia Drang Valley in 1967. His whole platoon was overrun. It happened 42yrs ago yesterday.
