Default Rain-X

What do you all use on your windshields and or face shields that gives the same results as Rain-X? Something that wont harm the plastic like rain-x does? I have not used the rain-x on my bike or helmet but do use it on the cages.

Lucas Oil has a product called Slick Mist. OK for plastic, lexan etc. No amonia in it. Works great, makes it easier to remove bugs etc. I do not use it to clean the windshield, but to coat it. I also use it on the painted parts of the bike. Dust adheres less and it leaves a nice shine.

I don't use anything on my windshield...but its too low to need anyway. But as a general rule I DO NOT put anything but soap and water on my shields. Put the wrong thing on and you risK MASSIVE DEVASTATION to your windshield.

Rain-X Has a glass cleaner. Gets the bugs off hasn't harmed the windshield...and handles the rain.

I use Pledge on the entire bike, the bugs come off easy and it dosn't hurt the plastic or Paint, also I use a micro fibre cloth.

As far as I know , Clearview shields is the only company that says it's OK to use original formula rain-x on the shield.
I use Novus 1 cleaner/polish on mine and it acts like rain-x in the rain.
The Novus 1 brings a fantastic shine to the plastic and is absolutely safe to use.
After a couple applications , the bugs come off real easy from then on.
I hear Plexus works in a similar way also.

I picked up some "slipstreamer windshield polish/cleaner" the other day after replacing the plastic on mine. Feels kind of oily when you spray it on, but you polish it off. Hasn't been wet, but I know the bugs can be wiped off with a dry microfiber.

Like mentioned earlier, Pledge furniture polish on the whole bike. Shines like a diamond in a billygoats rump.
