Sounds like I got the SG model for my ultra 
I love the ability to adjust my backrest, but like you, the adjustment controller is butt ugly. I wanted to subscribe to this in case there's a better looking piece out there. Here's what mine looks like mounted per the instructions.

when you use tie wraps roll them around so the conection is in the back....mine are showing....i have to roll them around

So let me get this straight....The old style has a nice flush lever on it (Ive got it) and the new one has this pos lever that looks like the power adj on my pos lawn mower????WTF WHY O WHY Did they change it!!! Lets ask DAWG!! He will know...He know's (Thank God) Everything!!!!!!
