Default 99 FL lower sliders

I hope someone here can answer my question. I have a friend who has a 99 Ultra and needs some new lower sliders. He cannot afford chrome ones but I have a set of takeoffs for a 2001 and thought he could use them. Does anyone know if the 2001 lowers will fit on a 99. Harley uses a differnt part# for the chrome ones and before we dissasemble I would like to know if they are compatible.

Thanks.

I don't believe so. The fork sliders are compatible for 2000 and up, but I don't think they'll work on a 99.

The 99's are different due to the front brake caliper. I've got a stock set in the attic from my Road King Classic with about 3500 miles on them if he's interested. Would just have to cover shipping.

Both are correct except....you could use the 01 lowers but you would have to get new calipers......but it could be done ask me how

Good time to upgrade the single pot to more current 4 pot brakes.

So new brakes, rotors, wheel, 1 in axle, in order to use the newer sliders.

He'll appreciate the extra stopping power if doing this mod.
