I thought about a boot guard but after putting a set of 1" Soos extenders on there really hasn't been a need for the guard. Can't remember the last time I left a boot mark on the pipes since the extender install.

+1 on the 1" Soos extenders, put them on front and back over a year ago, haven't had a boot touch the pipes since, front or back ............
Thanks for all the great information. I had considered the extenders.
Do they cause you to scrape the boards more frequently?
Is is weird that the brake and shift pedals remain inward while the boards move out?

The extensions are the answer. I only have to clean boot crap off the pipes if I get lazy with my foot placement. Yes, you can scrape the boards more frequently once the extensions are in place. But so long as you expect it in a large lean, you're okay. I did not have any problems with the shifter placement after installing the board extension on that side. In fact, I would still like to extend the length of my heel shifter so I can fit my size 12 motorboat on the board more comfortably.
