I used the one from my wing....why won't yours fit????

RAM has all the necessary mounting hardware you'll need....I just wired my Zumo, used the cig lighter plug behind the fairing. Also, I didn't want the mount on the bike all the time, so I went to Napa, bought a two wire waterproof connector ( like the battery tender style), spliced between the wires...this will let me disconnect the mount and GPS as a unit and only leave the RAM mount on the bars, clean look.
You could also use the available connection in the fuse panel....

I moved my 2610 and ram mounts from my wing to my Ultra without any problem, I bought everything from www.cyclegadgits.comorginally. I have the GPS mounted on the right and the XM radio on the left. I had to buy new bolts at the local hardware store.

I just purchased an 06 Ultra. I have a GPS( Garmin 2610 ) that I want to mount. Where can I find a Ram mount for the Ultra? I had one for my Goldwing but it won't fit the Ultra. If any one has a GPS on their Ultra, how did you wire it? Thanks.
I have a Quest, not the HD variant, and used a RAM mount and Garmin motorcycle mounting kit. The latter attaches to the bike's electrical system, which IMO is a must. First, many (all?) GPS's default to a dimmer screen brightness when in battery mode that can't be changed to the brightest level when running on 12v power. Second, my Quest will not run long when in its brightest screen setting in battery mode.

Garmin makes a 12v "mounting kit" for the 2610 (https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?pID=1053) for hot-wiring into the 12v system. I got my best price on the kit for the Quest at Provantage.com, so check around. You'll still need a RAM mount to attach to the cradle in the kit. There should be two wires on the GPS harness, 12v and ground. The 12v wire can be spliced in series to the Acc. switch. Check your manual, but on my '07 there are three wires connecting the bike's harness to the Acc. switch: Switched (OR), unswitched (OR/R), and black (GND). Since you likely don't want it switched since the GPS has its own on-off switch, splice into the OR/R wire, which will provide power at all times, regardless of the switch position, as long as the ignition is on. It will power off when you turn off the ignition.

Can you use the cig lighter on the Ultra as a plug in? I'm curious if this model (2610) has a cig adapter? Oh, and RAM mounts are terrific. You can't go wrong there.

I didn't want to risk the speaker hitting the tank, so i hard wired the GPS, using a harness from Radio Shack, directly into the back of the cigarette lighter.

Got a Nuvi 350 I use in the truck. Wished they made a way to stick it on the motorcycle so I didn't have to buy another unit. Anybody used one of these >

I got the Ram Mount using the link below. The 3" arm is a good length and I think the rubber ball mounts will help absorb vibration.

Here is some Garmin/Harley GPS installation information

http://www.gpspassion.com/forumsen/t...TOPIC_ID=57448

I have a Garmin 2720 and use a Tech Mount (HG-30997MC) and a Tech Mount crome top plate (HG-60991C) with the Garming motorcycle mount kit. CycleGadgets.com for the Tech Mount stuff.
