I'll be heading to ThunderBeach in Panama City Beach at the end of September. What should I see and do, and what could I leave off the list? I would appreciate any info you guys might have.
No idea but I'll be there too!
I've grown up in the south and I've never even been to PCB so it'll be double exciting for me. We are heading down the 23rd.
TB is different from a lot of shows, because its spade-out across the area about over 10 maybe 15 miles. Hotels everwhere, you may be able to still get a room but it will cost you. There have a email address thats good with a lot of infomation. Where are you coming in from.
You shouldn't have a problem getting a room, made reservations at Boardwalk Resort (host site) last year the night before leaving for arrival on Thursday. Biggest group of vendors are at the Boardwalk convention center.
As Biff said it's spread out across PCB area but all bike parking is free and no entry fees anywhere. Web site is www.thunderbeachproductions.com and they have all the info you need for venues and bands vendors and their locations etc.
Lot of good beach riding when you get tired of the rally scene if you do, graet rally IMO we had a blast last year at the fall version.
Group of us are leaving Atlanta on morning of the 27th.
As others have said, lots to see and do with several venues spread out everywhere. The website will give you the best information and the earlier you get a room the better cost wise. I go twice a year since it's only about 1.5 hours drive and always a good time.
It's a great rally, no admission cost to any of it. Lots of vendors. As time gets closer the website will list all the vendors and each of the 6 or seven venues. It's a great time. Weather is usually good. Let's see, Beaches, Girls, Beer & Motorcycles, what more do you need for a good time !!! See you there.
We have been there several times since it is only 3.5 hrs from home...nice rally. Last year the biggest venues were at the Shoppes at Edgewater and Frnak Brown Park. IMHO, one must go place is the Haufbrou Haus located in Pier Park across from the County pier. Just like the one in Germany...they serve great German food and have the original beer receipes that come in up to 1 liter mugs. They have the German UmPaPa bands and everyone stands on the benches and sings along. Definetly a cab home kind of place. We had a room within walking distance, on purpose, which came in handy since I consumed 4 liters of their finest beer. As far as rides go, head down along Hwy 98 which, after passing through a lot of PITA traffic on the east side of Panama City, runs along the beach down to Appalachiacola and back. Good senic ride. Enjoy yourself. We are going to the Bikes, Blues, and BBQ rally in Fayetteville, AR this year at about the same time.
