I know my 07 fltr has a 140/90 16 rear tire. How wide can I go ?I'm thinking 150 or 160 80/16.
If you have a 140-90-16 you have the wrong tire on your bike. It came with an MU85B-16. It's a little lower profile than the 90 and wider than the 140, actually closer to a 150 than a 140, I've measured them.

Technically you're correct. I use an Avon Venom 140/90 x 16 on my Evo, instead of the recommended MT/130. My 140 is actually 146mm wide and I suspect a 150 will be wider than 150mm!
I suspect there is very little difference between an MU/85 and 140/90 and there are other HDFers using the slightly bigger tyre.
