YES, Yes, yes!....... I would have been in trouble more than once if I had not got a recept. Paid at the pump, went in store to by cola, candybar etc. Go to pay for junk food and the Dude/ Dudett at the counter charges me for the gas, again. Have to show recept to make my get away!... Happened on more than one occasion too.

Man you guys have too much time on your hands to be logging in all that gas info. HAHAHAHHA

Just press the call button and tell the clerk to bring the receipt out to you. Make up some reason why you can't walk into the store.

So now I always get my receipt, even if I have to walk in and get it, and I always let them know that the reason I pump my gas with a credit card is so I won't have to come into the store...
And if he had a receipt the cops wouldn't have drug his **** back????????

I always get a receipt. It's free!!!!!!!!!

if you're mileage is gonna fall off, you're gonna notice a big change. i use my trip odometer every fill up (don't even bother with the gas gauge) and do a quick calculation in my head when i fill up. if you want to be really **** about it, screw the receipt, keep a little notebook and write the pertinent info down.

if not getting a receipt pisses you off that much, your life must be pretty good. be happy for that.

Default Clerk has receipt

Garemlin
As a multi store, hi volume operator, I pay more for paper that tears freely from the spool, enabling the sensors to send a "replace paper at pump # yy" message to the clerks. It doesn't always tear off the spool, and other than the daily walk to check paper/jam status, the only way we find out is when a customer tells us. Flip side is, as the nozzle is replaced, our "pumps" ask the bank card customer if they want a receipt. With our paper, and daily checks, nearly every in store request for a receipt, for a pay at pump transaction, is a result of our customer ignoring the option, or selecting something other than yes. Admittedly, there are advantages to additional in store traffic. Pissing someone off before they open your door is NOT a viable long term success model. Your humble gas guy, deli

So let me understand your "logic" -- anyone who would rather get back on the road instead of arguing over a scrap of paper is a poser?

And the joy of the journey for you is collecting receipts? Man, you are livin' large...

I track my gas mileage for the same reason.

Here's MY ritual.

1. Obtain receipt at pump.
2. Remove pen from "Gas Receipt" envelope from document thingie in Tourpak.
3. Log trip odometer reading on receipt.
4. If no receipt prints at the pump; log date, gallons pumped and odometer reading on "Gas Receipt" envelope. No store entry required.
5. Reset trip odometer.
6. Place pen, receipt, and envelope (if removed) back into document holder in TourPak.

After a few accumulate or after a multi-day tour, update the gas mileage Excel spreadsheet that is a file in my maintenance folder.
