Default Anniversary

Saturday, June 17 was one year from when I took delivery of my RK, 18,756 miles later it's still all smiles. Bike has performed flawlessly, wife loves it and is ready to ride anywhere, anytime since the seat change. So far, I've managed to keep the shiny side up.

I just wanted to say thanks to all who post on this board. I've gained more knowlwdge here than I ever thought possible. It has allowed me to perform most all my own service so far with the exception of tire mounting. I'm sure I could do that but choose not to.

The information base here is huge. Post any question you want about any H-D subject and you'll get an answer, most always sensible and correct. There's a pretty good sense of humor here also.

Thanks again to all who contribute to this board. It rocks!!

Ditto your sentiments! I'm a few hundred miles less than you but also a week later. Got my UC June 24th. This forum is tops!

Excellant post!

This forum has put me way ahead of the curve in H-D related knowledge.

How do I put this.......
I ride with guys who have years of H-D riding and now often ask me H-D questions because of the information I have learned here.
I have also saved a ton of money by knowing just the right thing to buy and that it will work as intended.

Neckball,

Congrats on the mileage and the memories. What is the RK Highbars? Did they require any cable changes?

From the H-D website-

Chrome Road King® High Handlebar

Designed to provide extra comfort for the Road King® rider, this chrome bar is 4-1/2 inches higher and 2 inches narrower than the stock handlebar found on '96-'99 Road King® models and 3-1/2 inches higher and 1-1/2 inches narrower than stock handlebar on '00-'01 Road King® models. No additional cables or hoses required for installation.
55954-00

Fits '96-later FLHR models.

MSRP US $49.95

Used all the stock cables, even ran the wiring inside the bars, that really cleaned things up. Price is good and they're chrome! Comfort factor went way up.
