Default Saddle time?

I am trying to conduct and experiment of sorts to see how much saddle time everyone here does.
Also how long have you been riding the same bike.
Last but not least Do you work on your own bike or take it somewhere.

I have been riding this bike (89 FLTCU with 100,000 miles) for four years compared to my last one (85 EVO Rigid built by me from the ground up) that I rode for 12 years.
I do my own work Except electrical including motor work.
I ride about 600 to 800 miles a month

I average 2500 miles a month with my commute (135 miles a day round trip). I ride year around here in San Diego.

This bike I've had since Dec '08 when I had to buy a new one cuz my previous bike was destroyed by some maggot who hit me on the freeway and left me for dead. It was totalled at almost 92k. I loved that bike ('05 EGC) and was looking forward to rolling over 100k and well beyond that eventually - obviously fate intervened and that just didn't happen.

I keep my bikes and log a buttload of miles on them. I take good care of it and do all my own basic maintenance and services except tires. Unless it's totalled or just plain wears out some day I plan on running this one well over 200k.

I ride as much as I can. Bought my '09 UC on 03/21/09. On 09/21/09, I had 16,209 miles on the odometer.

I've been riding Ultra's since 2007; prior to that, mostly Softail style bikes with a crotch rocket thrown in back in the mid-80's cuz I was a punk@$$ moron back then (still a moron, just not a punk@$$ anymore [I hope] )!

I have a VIP Maintenance program at my dealership (pay up front and by 12,500 service, it's paid for itself); bike gets serviced every 2500 miles and is valid for as long as I own the bike.

Bought my 08 Ultra on Mar 31, 08. 18 months and 39000 miles, 2166 a month average. I also ride mine to work everyday which is 5 miles round trip. I do all of the maintenace and adding of doo dads. HD only gets it for warranty work which has been very little.

I have only had my 09 EG since mid June. Got 8g's on her now. I generally keep my bikes for 5 years or so. I prefer to do as much wrenching on them myself as I can.

What'd that VIP maint program run ya? Is that a Harley thing or just certain shops?
