Just switched my RK bars for Wild1 Chubby 515 apes, 10.5". Wow what a difference! The bars are perfect and the ride is smooth. I am looking forward to this weekend for a long haul,, maybe Hollister 400 miles. By the way Hollister hotels are nearly full, so I think it is gonna happen regardless of the cancelation.
I am so glad to hear that. I am getting wild 1, 12" installed tomorrow on my RK Classic. I feel better. I knew that they had to be much better than stock

Yup, they are very cool bars. I just put some on my Road King Classic a few months ago.
Yes. I went +4" on the throttle/idle, clutch, and brake lines. I also had to go +8" inches on the wiring for the bars. If I had to do it over I would have gone +6" on the throttle, clutch, and brake, and +12" on the wiring so that I would have some extra room to run a cable manager on the bars, or go to 12" apes in the future.
Also, install a one piece handlebar clamp and polyurethane riser bushings (not H-D's if you have a Road King-they're too tall). Here's a pic of what the bars look like from the front of my bike without the windshield on:
