Default Header Pipes Install

I should be getting my V&H Dresser Duals soon for my 2010 Road Glide. Was wondering if I should install them myself or just let the dealer install them. I have never done this before and was wondering if anyone had any advice on the installation. How difficult is it to do on a scale from 1 to 10....10 being the hardest. Any tips or advice will be appreciated.

I put the dresser duals on my 09 SG...fairly easy job. V&H includes pretty good instructions.

Do it yourself. Save the cash for the next mod.

Take your time and read the instructions several times prior to starting. One tip that really helped me: If you replace the exhaust gaskets in the heads, soak them with WD-40 before you attempt pushing them into the exhaust port. They will go in much easier.

Question

If you have to ask you might want to take it to the dealer! Sounds like you might be a little apprehensive.

I changed out the handlebars myself and put some Heritage bars on without any problems....rather simple actually just time consuming. I just like to know what im getting into before i start on something. Just didnt know if changing out header pipes was a PIA or not. But thanks for the feedback.

it is easier than changing bars, hardest thing is to get the old exhaust pipes apart. for me the right side I could put the heat shield on after the pipe was on. The lsft side had to have the heat shield on before the pipe was put on. I had one O2 sensor that must of been cross threaded and I could not get it out so just bought a new one, the other one came right out put antisieze on them when installing and do not get any on the sensor just the threads.

Where were you yesterday? Getting those damn things in without tearing them up was a PITA. By far the most difficult part. I sure could have used this tip! As it is I might have ended up with a small leak at the rear cylinder. I'm not sure but if I listen with a hose stuck in my ear and the other end by the port I think I can hear it popping. Time will tell
