Can't give you pros/cons but the dealer I inquired with about this install also said no to the need of the releases. Said the standard SE 103" Stage II kit compression didn't neccesitate the need. Guess two dealers agreed on something. What are they quoting you on the install ? My dealer said "approximately" $1800 to do it all.
The riders I've spoken to that have already done the 103 wish they had installed the compression releases for hot starts. So I had them installed with mine but have not been able to take the bike out.
My Dealer is running a winter special on the SE 103 Stage II W/255's
Do I need to install Comperssion Releases ??
Please give me the PROS & Cons,,,, My Dealer claims they have not had any trouble with JUST installing the Stage II's
Ask them to provide what CR and CCP you will be at when they are finished with said build. When they look at you like WTF do you mean...............move on. If they do pony up some numbers with a 100% guarantee that is where you'll end up at if they are persistant with negating the need for CR's...........get it in writing. You'll probably need it as ammo in the near future.
Know what I mean Vern?

When i did my se103 and cam i bring my head to the machin shop and install the manual release and i'm glad i did...easy start each time.
cheap insurance for less than $200.00
If your going for the head work do the ACR. Hot starts are the problem but it is not every time that you hit the starter. If no head work then I wouldn't worry just be ready for the occasional Thermal nuclear detonation upon hitting the starter switch. It will turn some heads but it can't be good for the starter.
