Does anyone have any idea why (stock 2010) the RKC weighs as much as a Street Glide and 5lbs more than a Road Glide custom, when it has no faring, smaller wheels, etc.?

I don't know, the leather on the bags or maybe the wide whitewalls. I give up.

Curiosity more than anything. I've been researching a new bike and it seemed odd to me. Seemed like the RKC should be lighter. I would think that faring alone has got to be good for 50lbs. And it's not the leathered bags. The RK lists as 2lbs heavier than the RKC. I know, small differences. I'm not really worried about it. I would just have expected the RK and RKC to be lighter than Street Glide and RG.

50lbs for the fairing? I'd guess it would be closer to 10 including radio & speakers.
