Default Installing new Floorboard Inserts.

Got a pair of the chrome/rubber ones on ebay used, pretty cheap. Anyway, haven't looked at it yet, bike's at my friend's house, but are there any tricks/things to look out for when installing these? Thanx.

This would be a good time to entertain the thought of adding some extenders. Either SOOS or Harly Goodies can help ya out with this. One of the best additions to my FLHTC I have done.

Yes, the floorboard extenders, which are 3/4" or 1", make a BIG difference in riding comfort.

As for the inserts, not really hard to do. Like anything else, just take your time and put down the beer for a few minutes.

If it's just the floorboard inserts, you need to pop out the little rubber "nubs" to get them off (and then back on). I used some petroleum jelly to make it easier both ways...so to speak.

That works, but petroleum jelly is rough on rubber, liquid soap and a little water works just as well, just as it does for mounting tires.

Dish soap on the nubs and they slip right in. Easy peasy.

Floorboard extenders, what do they do, extend them forward, out, or both?
