Wait until '08
I heard that a HD employee said that the really cool stuff is due out in '08. He was asked, "Don't you mean '07, a 96 motor and 6 speed is really good?" He responded, "No I mean '08 the really cool stuff is due out in '08."

Must have been the janitor, because nobody knows whats in the future, except to say that the TC motor already has the water jackets in the cases
Seriously though, I don't get Harley's "baby steps" approach with the twin cam. The new TC96 is only 132cc bigger than the TC88 - size went from 1450cc to 1582cc. The competitors are out there with 1700, 1800 and even 2000cc motors. Granted the 2000cc (Kawasaki) is liquid cooled, but Yamaha has some very impressive air-cooled motors in their line-up, the largest of which is 1854cc (112 cubic inches). That Yamaha motor is a stump-puller. Two up or solo, the Yamaha doesn't care. Given Harley's tendency to stick with their motors for a comparitively long time, it's unlikely that a larger motor than the TC96 would be out for many years.
The evo came out in the early 80's, the TC88 arrived in 1999, and now the TC96 in 2007. Each upgrade was only a little over 100cc. Baby steps. Why not go for the gusto and make a 111" motor the standard? 111 has a nice ring to it, don't you think? A 111 would be about 1830cc, more in keeping with the competition. Harley could then offer a 121 incher as an upgrade option (2000cc). Am I the only one who feels this way?

My dealer told me to wait for the '09's, because the really really super cool stuff would for sure be out then.
