Gel Cell or Glass Mat batteries.... They are much better than lead acid type too. Us bass boat guys have known this for a few years.

Ha! you gotta be kidding!
Most of the parts guys I've seen lately are kids, The dealership decides an employees wages but the dealership does NOT control prices, they are downloaded from H-D. There was an increase on battery prices a while back and soon after the price went back down.

Everyone has been talking about the raise in gold over the past year. Lead and copper went up way more than gold. Should have bought lead - who'd of thunk.

I'm glad that I use tenders for my bikes. The right way not just when stored but always plugged it. Unplug when I go out the garage and plugged back in upon returning. I have had cycle batteries with 2001 build date and still have full power under load test.

Saved a fortune in batteries with little ol Shumacker tenders from WallyWorld at $20 a pop.

To save money on bike batteries I go to this site to find the right Deka number then I do a search for the best price on that battery. It was ebay a couple of months ago.

Deka makes HD brand batteries and while they aren't exactly made to the HD standard they are close.

Is it possible to buy a cheaper battery from any local stores? I have a dead battery on 883C Sportster 2005.

HD dealer wants $99.95 for it.

Check some independent shops, other dealers and scour the internet you might get get lucky.

Otherwise you just have to pay the piper, I know it sucks but hey your 883 just sitting , means it aint having fun.

Ride on........

Dealers are a rip!
Looking for a battery for my 04 Fatboy and never even gave the dealer a second thought.
Search the net. Looks like I may have found a 270CCA AGM for under 60 bux shipped.

I have no idea waht my local stealer want for one, I would guess about 150 bux.
