Hey guys. I decided to do some paint work on my 09classic so today i took off the rear fender and got quite a suprise, the wire harness inside was wore have way through bearing some wires. the combination of a lowering kit and soft shocks was the problem. I only lowered it one hole or 3/4 in. Adjusting the air shocks for me wasn't hard but 2 up with all the junk took time. I was up over 50 lbs. of air just to stop bottoming but the ride was bad.(new progressive shocks should cure the problem). Just a heads up to all.
Dealer took a new wiring sheath with the adhesive backing and relocated the wiring harness to the inside of the bend where the top of the fender meets the sidewall.
Now it's up and to the side of the wheel and no problems since.
Taking mine to show my dealer about the trouble i had with my air shocks, maybe they will cover it. also wore the wires in the bottom light. always something. Primo thats a good idea and will do the same.
I found another electrical problem on my 08UC that some might want to check on. I had a fuse go out and when i pulled it i found a good bit of corrosion on the prongs so i pulled a few more and found the same thing. I replaced all the fuses and coated them with some dielectric grease. I think this was caused by some water from washing the bike. All is good now a year later.

cover what? the wiring? cause you put on a lowering kit and bottomed out rubbing the wires bare? the only way that the dealer might possibly cover it is if you had them do the work, then maybe they might do something about it. but i wouldn't hold my breath.
