Question LED question

As of right now, the only LED lights I have are the saddle bag spoiler lights and the brake/run SG tri bar light. I have ordered and will install a chopped tour pack with the LED spoiler. I am also considering the Bright A$$ tail light kit. With that amount of LED lighting, will I need some kind load equalizer? If I get the BA tail light, the only thing not LED on the back of the bike will be the turn signals, which I will probably change to match. Dang, this is never ending......

The accessory LED lighting you are using and plan to use don't require a load equalizer. The LED boards in them have resistors in the circuit board eliminating the need for a load equalizer. I'm not a tech, but I ran the HD tour pak spoiler LED, saddlebag spoilers/LEDS (wired for run, brake, and turn functions), Ultra tour pak light bar and side marker lights, OEM SG fascia LED, and LED turn signal lights for 3 years/30K+ miles without any issues.

I changed out the police saddlebags (w/ spoiler LED's) for civilian bags (no spoiler LED's) about 8 months ago and have had no issues. I, too, am probably going to buy the Bad *** tail light and don't plan to add a load equalizer.

What about the LED' with the remote control, that shouldn't put a drain on anything?

You only need an equalizer if you put led's in the turn signals. And based on experience, it aint worth it.

If I have it right you only need a load equalizer if you are using LED turn signals. The incandescent bulbs pull more load when they flash than the LED ones draw. The load equalizer allows the LED turn signals to flash properly.

I just finished putting the L.E.D.s on the rear of my RG along with the Tri-bar fender cap. Looks real good.

What was not worth it? Were the turn signals not bright enough or troublesome?
