[QUOTE=sharknu;6077143]Alpine IDA-X305 HU (If the Ipod is your source of music) I don't even deal with the fumblin CD's anymore!
Hawg Wired Double Shot package which includes:
Hawg Wired PCS1502 Amp
Hawg Wired DX speakers

+1 on hawg wired. Great company. Amazing quality. I when with a Sony Marine CDX-M60---- USB control 4 GB USB card holds 1000 Songs. And I have full handlebar controls

I, for one, love the HK unit. I own an Ultra and it integrates everything very well. Using the intercom, CB and stereo at the same time is a breeze, and the sound is great. You can adjust all the volumes separately for front and rear and headphones. I'm sure there are better sounding units out there but I bet none of them do everything as well as the stock unit if you are going to use all the bells and whistles.

I pulled the Stock unit after the display quit. The CD player never did work good enough for me. I replaced it with a Sony. I had to get the adapter kit to mount it and the control unit ($120) so I can Keep the hand controls, I added a cheapy Amp,which works very well.

I agree, and it blends well (prevents the 16 yr old audio thief) stock.

If you want more sound out of it just send it to Ironcross and have the RCA outputs added for much cleaner pre-amp outputs. Its night and day difference with an amp and good speakers compared to stock.

Will the adapters for the hand controls only work for certain brands of stereos?

Are the ipods easy to use? Is there somewhere you get the music online? I know I am behind the times on this one. Atleast I have cds now. lol

If you get caught in the rain or wash your bike will the aftermaket radios be ok? I dont blast the dash with the hose and I didnt have any problems with the hk.
