slip on's are just the mufflers and are a darned sight cheaper than a full set that includes the head pipes and installation hardware. It all depends on what you want ie style, performance, sound

well i would like to get the V&H MO's in black with chrome tips and i want everything from engine back to be black.

Like this is what i always see on a site:

Vance & Hines Black Monster Ovals 46745 for Harley 95-08 Touring
Our Price: $659.00

V&H # 46745 / Drag # 18010297

Fits 1995-2008 Harley Touring Models

With twice the internal volume of standard slip-on mufflers and technology you wont find anywhere else, Monster Ovals crush the old saying that more power requires more noise.

Monster Ovals provide more horsepower with a stereo friendly deep rich tone thats perfect for those cross-country tours. Encased in blue proof formed heat shields featuring billet machined end caps in either chrome or black, Monster Ovals are the future of touring slip-ons.

Yet in the pic there is a bike with black pipes from front to back so is that the whole system or just the muffler?

very confusing

That looks like just the mufflers to me! THEN you need to buy something like the Dresser Duals.

what you're looking at is just the exhaust pipes. Headers are a seperate item.

That is a little confusing there pointerman.
The mufflers and the headers are both exhaust pipes.
That said, the add he copied above is just for the mufflers.

Everyone is telling you straight. You're just looking at the mufflers. You would also have to buy the
Dresser Duals Black part #46737.

To go along with your Monster Oval black slip ons. You're looking at about $1,000 for the black slip ons and head pipes.
