Default repositioning floorboard

Since I put the new big sucker air cleaner on the trim plate sticks out a bit farther than the old setup. Is it adviseable to move just one floorboard out farther, or would I have to do both right and left for a balance issue or something? What's the best way to move it out, install spacers or a nut or something? Thanks

Spacers should do the trick. Me personally, I would do both side so that they look the same.

When I installed my Rinehart True Duals they came with a right side spacer kit. I think it moves the floorboard out 1/2-3/4 of an inch. I don't even notice it.

Yea, my V&H duals came with washer spacers to move the right side out, but it still isn't enough for the air cleaner and my leg keeps rubbing on it. I'll give some slightly larger spacers a shot.

FYI, J&P cycle has a kit that moves them out 3/4"

I put the Kuryakyn set on mine, Works great, easy to install and only cost $40 I think. They move the floorboards out 3/4 of an inch on each side. For $40 its not worth the hassle of trying to makes something yourself.
