Just got my new issue of American Bagger and saw that Headwinds just came out with a headlight bezel for the Roadglides and all FLH bikes. No split gap or clamp screw like the HD version.
Just checked the price on line $310 in chrome...NO THANKS....
Way overpriced!
I have the HD frenched rings on my headlight, aux lamps and turnsignals and there's no gap at all.
There are posts on this Forum explaining how to mount them to eliminate the gap. I followed the instructions and everything worked fine.
i've been trying to figure out if i can use the tig to weld the harley visor type over the original one so i'm not using that goofy clamp setup on the bottom. i should be able to pull that job off, by milling out the areas for headlight adjustment and using the original tab at the top along with the retainer screw at the bottom of the original ring at the bottom. i just hate that cheezy clamp on style which seems very cheap and poorly designed. but i be damm if i be spending three bills for something that is cool cause it says headwinds on the package.
Mine works, is it perfect? No but you have to get under the light to see that its not.
I have NEVER had anyone do that.
Best 38 bucks I ever spent. Not going to spend almost ten times that on a headlight ring.
I looked at that headlight bezel a while back, and I really wrestled with the cost. I truly believe that it's a quality product, and if money were no object....well, it'd be on my bike today. Unfortunately, for some of us, money IS an issue...therefore no Headwinds bezel till I hit the lotto!
