did you just tighten the bolts and call it good, or did you you pull the bracket completely off and check your swing arm bolt and bushings too?
food for thought

Not clear why this would cause "rear steer"?

Yeah I'm anxious to hear/read the replys to this thread. I could possibly understand if the swing arm /pivot bolt was loose; but a foot peg or floorboard mount only mounts to the frame.

The rear floorboards on my bike mount to the brackets that hold the rear engine/gearbox rubber mount in place. If those bolts come loose the rubber mount can move in the frame, along with the entire drivetrain and rear wheel.

Not nice!

That is exactly what I am talking about and if anyone has watched the glide pro video the mount is referred to as the passenger peg bracket. Anyway I have not yet taken it apart to inspect but I will be doing that soon. I am in the middle of doing a few other things first.

I had a few things that lead up to this, while riding out to Sturgis I found out that my rear shocks were junk and when I replaced them I noticed the bike to be a bit "loose". I really noticed this from a stop turning left under throttle it felt like the rear wheel wanted to keep going straight, I have been chasing this ever since. I took the caps off the brackets thinking I'd find a nut laying inside since I have read about this many times while researching. I checked the wheel bearings and intended on looking at the bushings this winter. I pulled the rear pegs to sell them and noticed the lock washer was sprung and sure enough the bolts were loose. I asked a trusted member his opinion and he confirmed this was a potential cause.

Just wanted to get it out there because the pegs on an SG cover the top bolt partially and it is not real noticeable. I will post my findings with pictures when I get to it in a week or two. I am leaving for a trip March 12th so I have to be done by then....

Sta-BO came yesterday and since I had the exhaust off to change the clutch cable they literally took ten min to install. There is an article in the most recent issue of American bagger that shows an install and reviews the product. talk about timing they came on the same day. Looking forward to testing it out.

I found that the right side swingarm bracket (as referred to in the HDSM) has oblong holes from the movement of the arm, this was defiantly what I was feeling. I may get a TRW bracket to replace it depending on the cost of a new bracket from HD..... No pictures since there was nothing really to report. I believe the reason I have experienced this was due to oil blowing out of the filler tube. The bolts came out and where soaked with oil so if this has happened to you I suggest pulling the bracket apart and cleaning.
