Default How do I remove the screw that is already in the insert

The insert is spinning inside the fairing when I try to remove the screw. How do I get this out?

These thread repair inserts have been around for a long time, no new technology here.
This should put an end to the slot up or down deal once and for all:

That sucks. How many are spinning? If its just one get someone to hold the outer fairing. Rive all the other screws and pull that last one out with pliers. It will come out.
Don't have to pull it all the way out- just enough to get the needle nose pliers on.
I fixed mine with JB Weld once I had then all out.

I tried to pull on it with vise grips but the bolt is a rounded head allen screw and there is nothing to really grab hold of...Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

You may need to sacrifice an Allen ranch if vice grips don't work.

JB weld an Allen wrench go the bolt. You will have something to grip.

Default Update!!!

Hey Guys, I Finally did get the screw out using the vise grips. Went to my local Lowes because yesterday was Sunday and the stealership was closed and sure enough they had the threaded brass inserts. 2 for $1.59. Got them went home and used a 1/4 inch bolt, two nuts and a washer and threaded the new ones right in using a rachet and socket... Very easy and it worked perfect. Thanks so much for the help!!!
