To set off car alarms. I do it every day at work coming and leaving to my managers car. Of course I am not the only one.
Seriously though. If it is ok for these kids to drive around in their ricer cars with the fart can exhaust and 2000 watt stereos blaring at 3am, then it is ok for my pipes to be loud. Anything that makes our presence a little more known out on these dangerous roads is ok by me.
The loud sound (not in all cases) makes it sound...or appear? that you have more HP than you really do....kinda like those sex phone talk sweeties (that weigh 300 lbs), but sound soooo sexy...sound is not everything. I do fear that someday, as with other things (like cell phones) that the heat is going to intensify, with regard to the muffler issue. Sure it's a free country...but with limitations. Then we will all pay....as HD is now doing with the EPA. Sad truth my brothers.
