Just got back from a short trip to Florida. Had to change my outer primary gasket before I went down there. No problems on the way, or while I was there. But on the way back I got a room for the night, and this morning I noticed a few drops of oil under the bike. Took a look and at first I thought it was the new outer gasket leaking. I wiped everything off and hit the road again. When I stopped a hundred miles later, I looked again and saw a little drip forming. Took a closer look underneath, and it appears that it's my inner primary leaking where it bolts to the transmission. Looks like the oil is migrating to the outside while riding. It's damn nasty under there too. Gonna clean it all up real good to verify that it is the problem. Figured if I'm gonna have to tear it down that far, I'm gonna go ahead and put a chrome one back on.
So where's the best place to buy one? Somewhere other than Chicago or Zanotti's?
I also just installed cams and adj. pushrods a week or so ago. Seems I'm getting some valve noise now too. Didn't start that until the ride home either. Guess I need to check them while I'm at it. It was quiet for the first 1000 miles after install, but now I'm ticking a little. Seems it's always something........
Betcha $10 it's a shifter shaft seal leaking. Use the Cometic replacement, the HD one is crap. Still have to pull the inner primary to replace, it's a good opportunity to change to a chrome one.
Definitely not the shifter seal. I run gear lube in the trans, and this is definitely oil leaking. Take that $10 you now owe me, and have a beer on me.

Just looked at their site. I don't see a link to buy online, and didn't find the primary through a search of their ebay store. Guess I can call them tomorrow.....

It's really pretty simple..... Put the part number in the box on the lower left where it says "store search" and hit search. Must not have looked very hard. Or you could just call I guess.

I'm pretty **** about my chrome (when new). Figure with what they charge, it out to be flawless (rarely is). On a piece that big, I went thru the dealer and paid the extra bucks just to avoid the hassle of the potential shipping back & forth nightmare of a flawed piece. Go figure, about the only piece of chrome I've gotton from the dealer that was mint condition was the chrome inner primary.
